Spot AI has introduced IRIS. It describes it as the world’s first universal video AI agent builder for enterprise camera systems.
This tool allows businesses to create customized AI agents through a conversational interface, making it easier to monitor and act video data from physical settings without the need for technical expertise.
Designed for industries such as manufacturing, logistics, retail, construction and healthcare, IRIS is based on previous launches of AI agents that are ready to use by AI for safety, security and operation. While these pre-built agents focus on common use cases, IRIS offers organizations the flexibility to train agents for more specific business scenarios.
According to Spot AI, users can build video agents in minutes. This system can be configured to allow training through enhancements using examples of what AI should not detect and trigger actual responses such as equipment shutdowns, door locks, and alert generation.
CEO and co-founder Rish Gupta said the tool dramatically reduces the time required to create a specialized video detection system.
“It happens in minutes that we used to be developing for several months,” Gupta explained. Before IRI, creating specialized video detection required a dedicated AI/ML team with advanced degrees, thousands of annotated images, and eight weeks of complex development.” he explained.
Example from actual settings
Spot AI highlighted a variety of industry-specific use cases that IRIS can support.
Manufacturing: Product backup or fluid leak detection with automatic response based on severity. Warehouse: Find unsafe stacks of boxes and pallets to prevent accidents. Retail: Monitors shelf inventory levels and generates alerts to restock. Healthcare: Distinguish staff and patients wearing similar uniforms to optimize traffic flow and safety. Security: Identifies tools such as car park bolt cutters to address evolving security threats. Safety Compliance: Check whether workers are wearing necessary safety equipment on site.
Video AI agents continuously monitor critical areas and help teams respond quickly to safety hazards, operational inefficiencies, and security issues. With IRIS, these agents can be developed and modified through natural language interactions, reducing the need for engineering support and making video insights more accessible across departments.
Looking ahead
Iris is part of Spot AI’s broader efforts to make video data more practical in physical environments. The company will discuss the tool and its features at Google Cloud Next, where Rish Gupta will speak at the media roundtable on April 9th.
