The Partnership on AI community is also actively involved, collaborating on safety protocols, risk management frameworks, and interoperability recommendations.
As a member of the future steering committee AI Action Summit in FranceI look forward to the next phase of global action on AI governance. We kicked off this step with a policy forum in September, welcoming French envoy Anne Bouvelot and partnering with the French government as an official event on the road to the summit.
This week, PAI will bring together UK and European partners in Paris for the Autumn OECD AI Conference and First Meeting. Digital Trust ConventionThe event is co-sponsored by PAI with the Atlantic Council, Bertelsmann Stiftung, KI Park, Mila Quebec AI Institute, OECD, the Electrical, Electronics and Information Technology Association (VDE), organizations with extensive experience in digital trust. and the World Privacy Forum.
PAI’s mission to bring together diverse voices on pressing issues in AI has led to collaborations with leading organizations across the Atlantic.
PAI has over 20 partner organizations across the UK and Europe. This includes private partners within and outside the technology sector, including A&O Shearman, Google DeepMind, EY, Ingka Group | IKEA, prolific. civil society organizations such as the Ada Lovelace Institute, Eticus, the Alan Turing Institute, and the Future Society; media organizations such as the BBC and the Thomson Foundation; and academic institutions such as the Fraunhofer IAO and the Oxford Internet Institute. We also work closely with policy bodies such as the UK AI Office and the European Parliament.
Incorporating perspectives from the European community has become even more important since the European Union passed the historic EU AI Act earlier this year.
We look forward to participating in the development of the Code of Practice, the next step in the process to ensure safe and responsible AI practices in the EU. By contributing to the group that is defining the rules for transparency, systemic risk management, and internal governance measures for general purpose AI model providers, we can ensure that our multi-stakeholder expertise contributes to this world-leading process I will do it like this.
In addition to the EU, national governments and multilateral institutions around the world, from the United Nations to the G7, are developing their own AI governance frameworks. While we applaud efforts to promote transparency and accountability, it is essential that these frameworks work together.
