New features include AI-powered video generation, similarity protection, and creator-centered analytics.
YouTube has announced a major expansion of its AI-powered tools, and has unveiled a new set of features designed to support creators, enhance shorts and tackle deepfake misuse. An update revealed in the platform’s annual edition at YouTube events highlights the driving force behind Google’s growing expansion to integrate AI into content creation.
Ask Studio: Creative AI Partner
One of the features of the headline is Ask Studio, an AI conversation assistant that provides creators with personalized insights into video performance, audience behavior and strategic growth. Currently, the tool, which is limited in the US, aims to become a “creative partner” for all YouTubers and provides actionable guidance based on channel data.
Short pants generation AI
YouTube integrates Google Deepmind’s VEO 3 video generation model into shorts. Creators can now generate short vertical videos using sound directly from the text prompt using a simple “create” button within the app. The tool is deployed in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, with wider availability planned. Additional AI video editing features have also been tested for AI editing, which converts RAW footage to the first draft, and Speech to Song, which remixes dialogs into soundtracks.
Dealing with similar detections
YouTube is expanding its portrait detection tools to combat the rise of AI-generated deepfakes. Available in an open beta for YouTube Partner Program members, authors can use facial similarities to remove and remove unauthorized content. This is part of the platform’s broader response to the surge in non-consensual AI videos targeting influencers and celebrities.
Strengthen your global reach with AI dubbing
YouTube is testing improved auto-immersion technology with LIP sync in 20 languages. The system uses AI to better coordinate dubbed audio with creator mouth movements and help localize content more naturally for global audiences. This takes a step beyond traditional dubbing methods that relied on human translators and audio actors.
New studio features for collaboration and testing
YouTube Studio has also received important updates. Creators will be able to do it right away:
We added five collaborators with visibility across all audiences to a single video, and extended the title A/B testing to optimize engagement. Access new updates in the Inspiration tab for content ideas.
These upgrades are designed to streamline workflows and allow creators to reach their audiences more effectively.
YouTube’s extended AI toolkit represents a critical step in redefineing the creation of digital content. By blending generative AI with deepfake protection measures, the platform aims to empower creators while addressing growing ethical concerns. As AI continues to rebuild its creative economy, new tools promise both opportunities and responsibility for creators in Asia and beyond.
