New Delhi (India), May 6 (ANI): Despite thinking that artificial intelligence is bringing a new era for business, 77% of CEOs feel that the company’s top technology specialists are not equipped to support, drive or accelerate business outcomes in this changing environment.
A survey by Gartner Inc further added that only 44% of Chief Information Officers (CIOs) are deemed “AI-savvy” by CEOs.
A survey of 456 CEOs and other senior business executives from around the world was conducted between June and November 2024 to measure CEOs’ perceptions of C-Suite.
“We have never seen such an unbalanced gap in CEO technical disruption,” said David Furlonger, VP Analyst and Gartner Fellow, Distinguished. “AI is not just a gradual change from digital business. AI is a step-by-step change in how business and society works. The key is that if rescue across C-Suite does not improve rapidly, competitiveness will decline and corporate survival will be at stake.”
The CEO recognized that even the CIO, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and Chief Data Officer (CDO) were lacking AI Savviness. CEOs’ concerns about the salvation of C-Suite technology are nothing new. A survey of Gartner CEOs showed that CEOs’ assessments of the salvation of executive technology needed in the digital age are suboptimal.

Limiting factors affecting AI deployment
The CEO emphasized that the top two limiting factors that influence the deployment and use of AI are unable to hire sufficient numbers of skilled people and cannot calculate value or outcomes.
“The CEO has moved the AI perspective from just a tool to a transformative way of working,” said Jennifer Carter, principles analyst at Gartner. “This change underscores the importance of proficiency. As leaders recognize the possibilities and impact of AI on the organization, they understand that success is not just about hiring new talent. Instead, they are about equipping current employees with the skills they need to seamlessly incorporate AI into their daily tasks.”
Focusing on this upskill is a strategic response to the evolving role of AI in business, ensuring that the entire organization can adapt and thrive in this new paradigm.
According to the survey, 66% of CEOs say their business model is not suitable for AI purposes.
Therefore, executives need to build and improve AI rescues related to all mission-critical priorities. (ani)
