Accenture is redesigning the workforce of the AI era. That means both layoffs and new hires. In a revenue call on Thursday, executives said the company is “exiting” employees who cannot be retrained with artificial intelligence skills, while also planning to expand their head numbers next year. “Our No. 1 strategy won’t improve,” CEO Julie Sweet said over the phone. However, “We are ending with a compressed timeline, not a viable path for skills that people who need reskills based on our experiences.” Despite the reductions, Sweet said the number of Accenture heads is expected to increase in all markets, including the US and Europe next year.
