AIIMS and Wipro GE Healthcare reach agreement to establish AI Health Innovation Hub

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wipro GE Healthcare to set up an AI Health Innovation Hub.

The new hub will focus on developing products and solutions that improve healthcare delivery and outcomes through more accurate diagnosis, innovative treatment protocols, and real-time patient data tracking.

As a technology partner, Wipro GE Healthcare will invest approximately $1 million over the next five years to co-develop, test and deploy intelligent systems and workflow solutions in cardiology, oncology and neurology.

As the hub’s clinical partner, AIIMS will provide multimodal clinical input for evaluation, feedback, and deployment of GE HealthCare’s AI-enabled solutions.

A joint working committee from both organizations will oversee the collaboration, including clinical research and academic engagement.

a transformative leap forward

India National AI Portal (INDIAai) says AI technology could bring a transformative leap forward to India’s healthcare system by 2025, boosting GDP by $25-30 million.

Parminder Bhatia, chief AI officer at GE Healthcare, said: “The Indian healthcare industry has experienced rapid growth due to supportive government policies, innovative domestic solutions, and the integration of digital technology and AI. Our collaboration with AIIMS to establish the AI ​​Health Innovations Hub represents a major step forward in this effort. We are excited to embark on this journey and work towards accelerating the development and validation of cutting-edge medical solutions and improving patient outcomes. ”

M. Srinivas, Director, AIIMS, New Delhi, said: “This partnership with Wipro GE Healthcare has strategic value and is in line with the national vision of Vikshit Bharat through advanced medical care. Wipro GE Healthcare has been committed to advancing healthcare through a vision of precision care and AI. ‘s expertise complements our vision. We are optimistic that this collaboration will accelerate the development and validation of advanced medical technologies and provide more effective care for patients. .”
