MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — As part of MSUM’s AI with Purpose initiative, the university is diving deep into technology learning with its AI Summit.
“This is a developing technology, but it’s having a huge impact not only on business and education, but also on society. And we fear that we don’t understand it. So it’s important that we understand it and understand it more deeply to recognize whether it’s really a force for good or whether it really needs more control before we implement it into our daily lives,” said David Groth, director of engineering at Advanced Business Methods AI.
ABM AI and MSUM are partnering on the summit, the first of many upcoming events, according to Dr. Joshua Reidy, executive director of the MSUM Applied AI Institute. Business leaders, teachers, and students come together to learn how AI has improved workloads and how to use it.
“We want people to understand what AI is, how to get the most out of it, and, frankly, how we can make it more efficient and effective in every field, whether it’s business, whether it’s education, whether it’s nonprofits, other fields,” said Joshua Reedy, Ph.D., executive director of Minnesota State Moorhead Institute for Applied Artificial Intelligence.
AI is changing every day, but the team at ABM AI says it’s worth learning about the tool and working with it.
“Prompts are really important and how you get the response you want, so we’re really focused on making sure the prompts you type are concise, specific, and focused on the information you’re looking for,” says Jess Bartelt, Solutions Architect at Advanced Business Methods AI.
The summit continues Tuesday in MSUM’s Comstock Memorial Union Ballroom.
