Mumbai (Maharashtra) (India), February 24 (ANI): Maharashtra Port Minister Nitesh Lane was asked on Monday to propose strengthening coastal safety in meetings with individuals working in the AI field. He also sought advice on improving productivity in the fisheries sector.
He said the state government will work to implement these proposals.
“CM Devendra Fadnavis has a clear vision for artificial intelligence and state advancements. Today I held an encounter with young minds in the AI field. I got important suggestions on how to enhance coastal safety and increase productivity in the fisheries sector. The government will work on how to implement these proposals,” Rane told ANI.
This happens as Maharashtra Prime Minister Devendra Fadnavis said today that the nation will soon lead the country’s AI and technological revolution. Speaking at the 2025 Nasscom Technology and Leadership Forum, Fadnavis said AI technology is accelerating state governance and the economy.

According to the Director-General of Maharashtra Information and Public Relations (DGIPR), Fadnavis said digital services in the state are increasing, with most of the government services available online.
He also announced that an AI Centre will be established at the University of Mumbai, in India’s Fintech capital.
Previously, during a visit to Paris, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that artificial intelligence is writing “the code for humanity of this century,” emphasising that it is very different from other technological milestones in human history. He further emphasized that AI is “developing on an unprecedented scale and is unfolding faster.”
In his speech at the AI Action Summit in Paris on February 11th, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude to French President Emmanuel Macron for inviting the summit as co-chair.
Emphasizing that AI can help change the lives of millions of people, he said, “AI can help change the lives of millions by improving health, education, agriculture and more. It will help create a world where your journey to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be faster and you will have to bring together resources and talent to make this faster. (ani)
