The legislative imagination must match the importance of AI -Marine Independent Journal

In 1933, Dr. Francis Townsend wrote a letter to the long beach press telegram editor. His urgent and simple idea -The largest citizen that the government experienced to the elderly (now about $ 4,800) to the elderly (currently about $ 4,800) and use everything before the next payment I created one of the exercise.

Congress Cocas was formed according to the exercise. Immediately, the state has taken similar proposals, including the initiative of “ham and eggs” in California. The equivalent of the TOWNSend Plan and the state of the state failed, but the Social Security Law was not corrected to become stronger unless this one doctor’s letter and it was inspired. Maybe.

The best way to ensure Americans’ economic resilience is again on the parliament’s agenda. It was definitely at the center of the presidential election. This is not surprising, given the people’s concerns about the state of the economy. More than one -third of Americans have identified economic issues as the main problem that the government faces. This large -scale union has been consistent for over two years. This suggests that fragmentary progress in dealing with economic instability does not reduce the concern of the people.

Prediction of the ongoing economic uncertainty suggests that the people are interested in all proposals to increase both the national financial base and the individual economic security.

The progress of artificial intelligence and the rapid recruitment over many occupations justify continuous anxiety. The early signs of economic turmoil brought by AI have already appeared. For example, video game manufacturers have greatly reduced labor. Artists, musicians, and other content creators have warned that they are experiencing dip in business.

So far, the proposed solutions have been partially taken. For example, some states have passed laws to reduce the use of digital replicas, which could reduce the potential of performers. Such a target law is necessary, but lacks width and boldness.

Our legislative imagination must be consistent with the importance of technical, social and economic changes that are already ongoing. I rarely doubt that AI is actually telling a new era. The life of only a few years will probably be significantly different.

AI’s “Agent” -Pleading to act on your behalf, aggressively achieving tasks, and thinking about AI systems that can pursue long -term goals -overturn many daily activities and more work and company. Is overturned.

Rather than catching these changes, you need a creative idea of maintaining and protecting core variants, norms, and systems. The minimum is a kind of current law seen in various states. We have a bigger dream, we have to do it, and we have to do it.

AI has already created a new class Haves. The division between these two groups increases if the solutions that are not made or not enough are standard. Now is the time to think about new ways to help people who notice that they are on the wrong innovation.

What kind of new institutions, support, and opportunities do we create, not only surviving in the age of AI, but also more people and more communities?

I provided some of my ideas through other essays and articles. You need to do the same -now as a Washington DC leadership, it’s time to experience your hands. If people like Townsend do not boldly try to share their novel solutions, we may have never realized a better future.
