TikTok has released new tools and features to streamline content creation and help creators earn more from their work.
TikTok has announced a series of new features designed to help creators work smarter, not harder. Announced at the TikTok US Creator Summit, the update includes two AI-powered tools, AIOutline and Smart Split, as well as new updates to the platform’s subscription-based revenue model that allows creators to earn up to 90% of profits.
smart split
When it comes to content creation, cross-posting and reusing content is an important part of a well-thought-out content strategy. However, different platforms have different requirements and formats, which can make editing tedious. For creators who spend hours trimming and reformatting videos, TikTok’s new Smart Split feature offers an innovative shortcut. Available globally through TikTok Studio Web, Smart Split uses AI to automatically convert long videos into multiple short clips.
“Smart Split automatically clips, reframes, captions, and transcribes long content into multiple short videos that can be used on TikTok,” the company said. This means you can split a single vlog, interview, or podcast into bite-sized, shareable videos in seconds.
Creators can upload videos longer than one minute, select the sections they want to save, and Smart Split will do the rest. This feature can automatically select the ideal video length or allow users to choose it themselves. TikTok also added options for caption styles and reframing tools to ensure each clip perfectly fits the vertical format.
Once edited, creators can publish their clips directly from TikTok Studio Web, eliminating the need for third-party editing software.
AI overview

AI Outlining is designed to help creators plan their content more efficiently. By entering a simple prompt, such as “baking lessons for beginners,” TikTok’s AI automatically generates “video titles, hashtags, hooks, and outlines,” giving users a clear idea of how to structure their content before filming.
According to TikTok, “AI Outline generates an outline that divides the video into six parts that creators can customize. For example, creators can lengthen or shorten titles, adjust hooks and general script ideas to make videos in their own style.”
This feature is intended to help creators get a head start on the brainstorming process, and is especially helpful for creators who are struggling to find the right structure or angle for their videos. Once the outline is ready, users can film it and upload it directly to TikTok.
Starting this week, AI Outlines will be available to creators 18 and older in the US, Canada, and select markets, and will become more widely available in the coming weeks. TikTok also emphasized that all AI-generated suggestions, from hashtags to scripts, go through safety checks to ensure they align with the platform’s community guidelines.
monthly subscription benefits
To cap off the announcement, TikTok introduced a major update to its subscription product, allowing creators to “earn up to 90% of profit payments.”
“Subscriptions allow TikTok creators to build stronger, more engaged communities while monetizing through monthly subscription fees to access exclusive benefits,” the company explained. After deducting fees, creators will receive 70% of TikTok’s revenue share. Users who meet additional requirements, such as 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in the past month, and at least 3 subscription-only videos, can earn an additional 20% per month and a 90% revenue share.
This new model provides clear incentives for creators to build exclusive content and earn more for their work while maintaining regular engagement with their audience.
TikTok says these updates reflect its continued mission to “power human creativity with AI-powered tools that make it easy to create, discover, and connect with original content.”
With AI supporting both the creative and editorial processes, the platform gives creators more time to focus on what really matters: creating engaging, original work that connects with their audience. By combining innovation with improved revenue opportunities, TikTok continues to shape how digital creativity evolves and creators bring their ideas to life.
