Newswise – Los Angeles (May 29, 2025) – Cedars Sinai experts will present research that allows you to comment on boring presentations for the Annual Meeting of Vasculature (VAM25) in New Orleans, June 4-7, June 4-7.
On Saturday, June 7th, vascular surgeon Elizabeth Chow, MD, will explain the results of a study that incorporates a deep learning model. The title of this study is “aortic strain and diameter after intravascular and open thoracic aortic repair.”
Chou, an assistant professor of vascular surgery at the Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai, is looking to improve the detection of aortic disease. Chou wrote a review paper published in 2023 in Nature Reviews Cardiology. This explains the genetic understanding of thoracic aortic disease and the possibility that artificial intelligence can identify large-scale diseases.
In addition to Chou’s presentation, on June 4th, Cedars-Sinai resident Robert Matthews, MD, shares “vess21: The va ecmo’s effects of distal perfusion catheters on vascular complications at a single-center facility.”
“These presentations are a great example of interdisciplinary collaboration at Cedars-Sinai, improving understanding of challenging aortic disease, optimizing treatment protocols and ultimately improving patient outcomes.”
