Openai has announced a $50 million fund to support nonprofits and community organizations by expanding access to AI tools and supporting community-driven AI research and innovation.
In a statement on the launch, Openai, creator of ChatGpt, said the fund “fosters innovation by leveraging the potential for AI transformation” in key sectors such as education, economic opportunities, community organizations and healthcare.
The initiative follows recommendations from Openai’s non-profit committee, which was established in April to guide the company’s philanthropy. The committee’s report submitted last week was shaped by interviews with more than 500 nonprofit organizations and community experts.
As part of this new charity strategy, Openai is also undergoing corporate restructuring. It says this is essential to staying competitive in the AI industry.

Agent AI Shopping Tools launched for retailers
Former Nike executives and Professor MIT have launched Cimulate, a new company that helps retailers compete with the e-commerce giants by providing access to cutting-edge AI and synthetic data tools.
New CEOs John Andrews and Vivec Farias said the platform was dedicated to the transition from a “human shopping experience” to a “agent shopping experience” and was the first AI native platform built for agent commerce.
The flagship product, Commercegpt, is built to allow Brand to surface their products on conversation platforms such as ChatGpt, Perplexity, and Claude.
Startups are utilizing what is called the “distillation by simulation” method, which generates synthetic transaction data that models Internet-scale behavior.

Elon Musk Xai launches a child-friendly version of Grok Chatbot
Elon Musk has announced his artificial intelligence company, Xai.
Musk made an announcement on X, where he posted a short message.
Although Baby Grok features and product details have not been disclosed yet, it is expected to be a simplified version of the Grok chatbot, focusing on safe and educational capabilities.
The announcement gets heated at the heels of the GROK4 launch, the latest iteration of chatbots Musk claimed during the live streamed launch on X.

Openai has signed a partnership with the UK government and plans to expand its office
Openai has signed a strategic partnership with the UK government, researching potential investments in UK infrastructure and examining ways to transform public services through artificial intelligence technology.
The memorandum signed by technology secretary Peter Kyle and Openai CEO Sam Altman outlines the plans for ChatGPT developers to invest in UK data centres and support the recently announced AI growth zone in the UK.
As part of the contract, Openai It plans to expand its London office, which opened two years ago as the company’s first international location. The expanded presence will strengthen the research and engineering team working on the frontier AI model while providing support for UK businesses, developers and startups.
“AI is fundamental to promoting the change that needs to be seen across the nation, whether it’s fixing the NHS, breaking barriers to opportunity, or promoting economic growth,” Kyle said in the government’s announcement.
